LH Volleyball sweeps Salem on the road
LOCK HAVEN, PA – The Lock Haven volleyball team (2-1) enjoyed a nice night on the court, defeating non-conference foe Salem University, 3-0, on the road in straight sets on Friday, Sept. 8.
The Bald Eagles 2-1 start is its best since 2019 when they started the season 3-0.
Under first-year head coach Mike Kraft, the Bald Eagles also pick up their first clean sweep in two seasons.

The closet set of the match came in the first one, as The Haven battled to win 25-23.
The Haven followed with its most dominate set in No. 2, coming away on top 25-12, with a plus-eight advantage in kills and a 44 percent success rate. The Bald Eagles put the match away with a 25-18, point-advantage in the final set.
The Bald Eagles led 35-21 in kills, committed eight fewer errors, and held a 25 percent successful hit advantage over Salem.
Kelly Gaston (Centennial, Colo./Grandview) once again led the Bald Eagles and the match with 25 assists, while not committing a single error. Gaston added seven digs, which was only bested by her teammate Madison Eckley (Julian, Pa./Bald Eagle), who finished the match with eight.
Alyssa Daley (Everett, Pa./Everett) led the contest in kills with nine, followed by Sabrina Valentin (Ovideo, Fla./Paul J. Hagerty) with eight and Natalie Acevedo (Camuy, Puerto Rico/Paula Freire Social Justice Charter School) and Evie Jane Rembold (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) with five each.
Rembold and Daley led the defensive charge with two blocks each.

The Bald Eagles will travel to Philippi, W.Va. on Friday and Saturday (Sept. 15-16) to compete in the West Virginia Wesleyan Quad. Competing schools feature: Seton Hill, Bowie State, Central State and Indianapolis.
