Almost show time: 52nd Lock Haven Regatta days away

LOCK HAVEN, PA – The boat launch area of Woodward on Monday and Tuesday of this week saw the early arrivals for the 52nd annual Lock Haven Regatta. While racing on the West Branch of the Susquehanna does not officially begin until Saturday morning, the Lockport side of the river is seeing increasing activity as the first rigs hauling boats from the American Power Boat Association set up shop.

Four days of fun and three days of boating in Lock Haven and Lockport will begin on Friday and end on Monday, Labor Day.

Boat races will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Opening ceremonies will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, with Clinton County Economic Partnership Chamber/Tourism Director Julie Brennan.

“A” Stock Runabout 2023 North American Championship will be on Saturday and the annual Dash For Cash, where second place is first loser, Sunday at noon.

It’s also the North American Championship for 700ccr and 1100ccr in the PRO Category.

The midway – featuring all your favorite food, drinks, games and rides – will be: Friday, Sept. 1 from 6 to 10 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 2 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday, Sept. 3 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Monday, Sept. 4 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Fireworks: Sunday, Sept. 3 at 10 p.m. Weather postponement, if necessary, Monday, Sept. 4 at 9 p.m.
