The Little German Band returns to Triangle Park Friday

LOCK HAVEN, PA – The Little German Band will be making a return to Lock Haven’s Triangle Park this Friday at 6:00 p.m.

Established in 1960, The Little German Band is Centre County’s oldest continuously performing band. Two dozen musicians perform a variety of German marches, waltzes, polkas, and other favorites and wear lederhosen and dirndls. The Little German Band got its start when the original members began performing around Centre County, playing Christmas Carols in the German “oompah” style, featuring trombone, clarinet, bass horn, and trumpet. Playing a range from traditional polkas to more modern songs arranged in oompah style, the group has released several albums.

The Little German Band has performed across Pennsylvania, as well as New York, Washington D.C., and Baltimore, among other cities, and is made up of approximately twenty-five members.
