Lady Wildcats win streak hits five

SELINSGROVE, PA – The temperature was cold but the bats stayed hot for the Central Mountain Lady Wildcats at Selinsgrove Tuesday where they recorded 16 hits in a six-inning, 12-2 win over the Lady Seals.

In the top of the first inning, Katelyn Bowman got things started with a double to left center followed by a Madisyn Wian single.  Madison Hardy then drove a fly ball to left field for the sac fly scoring one run.

In the second inning, Sophie Mitchell drilled a double to the outfield fence, moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on another wild pitch.

The third inning proved to big the “big” inning for the Wildcats as they pushed across five more runs on singles by Hardy and Gracie Saar, doubles by Wian and Kelsey Burrows and a three-run home run by Allison Lininger.

The fourth inning started with a single by Audrey Walker followed by a fielder’s choice by Bowman and an RBI single by Hardy.

In the fifth inning Mitchell reached on a single and was driven in by Harley Kunes’  two run home run over the left center fence.

Central Mountain added two runs in the sixth on singles by Haleigh Peters, Hardy and a run RBI single by Burrows.

Adalynn McKeague pitched the complete game for Central Mountain, facing twenty-three batters and allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits with eight strike outs and two walks.

The win brings the Wildcats record to 6-2 and they will return to action on Thursday with a key away game at Williamsport (4-0).
