Lady Wildcats down Danville, 10-0
DANVILLE,PA – After a scoreless first inning the Central Mountain bats came alive and the Lady Wildcats defeated the Danville Lady Ironmen by a score of 10-5 in a Thursday five inning game.
After a scoreless first inning, the Wildcats bats came to life in the top of the second inning when they sent nine hitters to the plate, collecting three hits and four runs in the inning. Danville tried to answer in the bottom of the inning with their only hit of the game, a 2-out single followed by a strike out to end the inning.
CM’s hot hitting continued in the top of the third when, for the second consecutive inning, they sent nine batters to the plate. This time they picked up six hits, including a 2-run home run from Madison Hardy and added another six runs to the scoreboard. Neither team would score through the bottom of the 5th inning when the game was ended due to the mercy rule.
Central Mountain totaled 13 hits on the short day with two hits each from Hardy, Madisyn Wian, Gracie Saar, Harley Kunes and Taylor Wahlers. Katelyn Bowman, Allison Lininger and Kelsey Burrows each added a hit.
Junior Pitcher Adalynn McKeague pitched four beautiful innings to start the game, facing only 13 batters (one over the minimum), while allowing one hit and striking out six batters. In the 5th inning Joslyn Schultz came in to close the game and faced the minimum 3 batter while allowing no hits.
Central Mountain will return to action for two games on Saturday at the Bellefonte Round Robin.
