Lady Wildcats Sweep Jersey Shore in Hard-Fought Match
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Central Mountain girls tennis team picked up a 5-0 sweep over visiting Jersey Shore on Thursday, though the final score didn’t tell the whole story.
The No. 2 singles match went the distance, with Central Mountain’s Lucy Walker rallying for a 5-7, 6-4, 10-4 tiebreak victory over Julia Herman. At No. 2 doubles, Tess Akeley and Leah Wian battled through three sets before topping Mya Lehman and Rylee Allison, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.
The Wildcats also got straight-set wins from Addison Lindsay at No. 1 singles, Lane Walker at No. 3 singles, and the No. 1 doubles team of Audra Eaton and Kassie Williams.
