Prospective Clinton County candidates invited to informational session
LOCK HAVEN, PA – The office of Clinton County voter registration director Maria Boileau has set up a candidates’ information night for those interested in running in the May primary election.
Boileau offered a primary election update at the Thursday meeting of the Clinton County Commissioners. She said the informational session will be held Monday, Feb. 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Piper Building’s second floor. She asked that prospective candidates call her office ahead of time so that sufficient petition packets can be prepared to hand out at that meeting.
She said Feb. 14 through March 7 is the state-set petition gathering period for candidates seeking to be on the May 16 ballot. She said a final list of all election slots across the county will be available at the beginning of February.
The voting office director said the county board of elections this year will consist of President Judge Craig Miller, court administrator Don Powers and county commissioner board chairman Miles Kessinger. The county commissioners normally fill those three slots but as incumbent commissioners Angela Harding and Jeff Snyder are both seeking re-election, they may not occupy those positions; board chairman Kessinger is not seeking re-election.
Positions on the ballot this year include all three commissioner posts, county sheriff, district attorney, prothonotary, register & recorder and all three auditor slots.
