Three in a row for the Lady Bucks at Galeton Tip-Off Tournament
By Bees O’Brien
GALETON, PA- Bucktail Lady Bucks head coach Carl Gentzyel is enjoying his trip north to Galeton and he should. His Lady Bucks have dominated that field for three straight years and on Saturday night they picked up another championship banner to hang in Dale Floreys Gymnasium.
Bucktail would get 20 points from Mak Wagner and another 8 points from her sister Kendall to fight off a tough Williamson team, 43-35.
Bucktail trailed the Lady Warriors 12-9 after one quarter, but Mak Wagner would score seven of the Lady Bucks 11 second quarter points to give her team the 20-19 lead at the break.
Bucktail also did well defensively on Williamson’s star Taylor Rae Jones, holding her to just 8 points on the night. Jones had 15 points in Williamson’s 45-2 win over Galeton the previous night.
Kayla Probert, Lily Francis and Alexis Lowery each scored 4 points and Matti Mason added 3 points to go along with the Wagner sisters’ totals.
Bucktail (2-0) will now sit idle until December 13 when they travel to Benton to open Mid Penn Conference play.
