EAST RENOVO – Drocton Hill, a local two-man band, celebrated Thanksgiving in a most unusual way, playing in the Fifth Annual Trytophan Fest near Harrisburg.

Richard Davenport, guitarist and drummer Jake Kormanec have been playing local venues this past year. The Trytophan Fest, an after Thanksgiving concert at The Champ in Lemoyne near Harrisburg is their first distant gig.

The Trytophan is a concert that helps shake off the turkey induced lethargy of a bountiful Thanksgiving dinner, Davenport said.

The gig came about through Jake’s mother. She met a woman in Williamsport and during a conversation mentioned her son was in a band. She learned the woman had a friend who owned The Champ, a concert venue near Harrisburg. She gave Jake’s mother contact information, the boys made the contact and soon afterward were accepted for the Trytophan Fest.

“It was really exciting,” Davenport said. “We were happy, proud and in a panic, like walking on a cloud.”

Kormenic — “At first I couldn’t believe that it was true. Then I couldn’t believe it had already happened.”

Drocton Hill played along with other bands that included The Road To Milestone, Gladiators, Far Beyond The Sunrise, I Hate Heroes, and Oshian.

The band is willing to play sorts of venues, bars, and private parties, ect. More information about the band can be found on the internet.
