Obituary
Debra K. Styers, 67, of Lock Haven passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022 after an eight-month courageous and well-fought battle with cancer.
Born July 6, 1954 in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of the late Robert Stover (Yvonne) and Betty McCracken Hill Stover.
Debra was a 1972 graduate of Lock Haven High School. On November 25, 1972, she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Carl Styers, with whom she shared nearly 50 years of marriage.
Debra most recently worked as a caregiver. In previous years, she was a local business owner for 15 years. She also spent many years working in the sewing industry.
She was a member of the Beech Creek American Legion as well as both the Lock Haven V.F.W. and Moose. Over the years, Debra held several fundraisers for Relay for Life to help with the fight against cancer.
Debra was a longtime member of both the Lock Haven Women’s and Mixed Pool Leagues and enjoyed shooting pool and sponsoring various pool teams.
She enjoyed camping and singing, especially to her grandchildren.
Most of all, Debra cherished her family and loved spending time with her husband and family.
In addition to her husband, Carl Styers of Lock Haven, she is survived by her daughters, Stephanie (Christian) Reeder of Lock Haven and Carla Styers of Blanchard; two sisters, Betty Fernburg of Mill Hall and Kathy Dershem of McElhattan; six grandchildren: Kayla (Alex) Swanson, Brach Calhoun, Carley Barner, Hailey Barner, Ethan Bliss and Cassidy Bliss; and two great grandchildren, Jackson and Mia Calhoun.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Marcus Hill.
A memorial service for Debra will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
