LHU Women’s Track & Field, Owens off to fast start at PSAC Championships

EDINBORO, PA – The Lock Haven University women’s indoor track & field team opened the 2021-22 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Indoor T&F Championships today (Saturday, Feb. 26) at Edinboro University. Leading the way was standout-sprinter Riyana Owens (Red Lion, Pa./Dallastown).

In the 60-meter dash prelims, Owens ran 7.57 which puts her second overall heading into tomorrow’s final. Her time of 7.57 broke her own school record and marks an NCAA provisional mark.

In the 200-meter dash, Owens ran 25.01. It marked the second-fastest time of the prelims and pushed LHU’s leader into tomorrow’s finals.

Karina Long (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) placed third in the long jump. Her mark of 18-00.5 put six team-points on the board for the Bald Eagles on Day 1.

Billie Jo Bollinger (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) qualified for tomorrow’s 60-meter hurdle finals. Today, in the prelims she ran 9.29 for the sixth-fastest mark of the day.

In the distance medley relay, the Bald Eagles placed sixth out of 12 teams with a time of 12:51.26.

In the women’s 5,000-meter event, Cadie Kiser (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) scored in eighth with a time of 18:13.51 and Morgan Perry (Quarryville, Pa./Solanco) finished ninth with a run of 18:16.00.

Megan Manglaviti (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock) finished ninth in the weight throw (47-08.00).
