Coudy takes down Bucks, 44-24

COUDERSPORT, PA – The Bucktail Bucks scored a season-high 24 points at Coudersport on Friday night, but it was not enough as the Falcons finished with a 44-24 win. For Coudersport, 2-3, it was its second game this week, having lost to Port Allegheny on Monday by a 46-20 score. Bucktail is 0-5 with the loss and preps for its homecoming contest Friday, Oct. 8 against District 9 small-school power Redbank Valley.

Coudersport ran for six touchdowns against the Bucks, including three from quarterback Gavyn Ayers who carried 18 times for 114 yards.

Bucktail did some solid things offensively, including a pair of scores from Zack Pick in an 81-yard kickoff return and a 19-yard TD reception from quarterback Dylan Cross. The Bucks closed to within 30-18 in the third quarter on an 8-yard touchdown run from Conner Mason but the Falcons pulled away for the win in the final period. Cross finished 9-of-19 passing for 141 yards with one touchdown and one interception; he also rushed 13 times for 81 yards and a score.

Braylon Fantaski continued to be Cross’s leading receiver. Fantaski caught 5 passes for 97 yards and Pick finished with two pass receptions for 25 yards and a touchdown, along with his TD kickoff return.

On the negative side of things, Bucktail gave up 100 yards in penalties, gave the ball away on four turnovers and had a player ejected Friday night, all in the first half.
