Words of Grace 5/20

By Mahlon Nevel

“The Lord will give grace and glory” (Psalm 84:11). He gives grace now and glory later. Grace is for this time in glory is for the time to come.

Paul the apostle wrote in Romans 8:18 that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to come. Christ had to suffer first before entering into glory. (Luke 24:26)

All who receive Christ as their Savior become the children of God. (John1:12) they all receive of His fullness “grace for grace” (v.16). That means grace upon grace. It means grace and more grace.

This is what James wrote in his epistle. The Lord “giveith more grace… grace unto the humble” (4:6)

We need a whole lot of Grace for now, and the Lord has more grace to give us.”He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,” Annie Johnson Flint writes “He sendeth more strength when the labors increase.”

We can have grace now. We have to wait for the glory. Four Christian men were conversing together. One of them said, “Brethren, I think it is most wonderful that I shall see the Lord in glory.”

The second man said, “I can tell you something more wonderful than that. I shall be with Him in glory.”

“May I tell you something even more wonderful?” the third man said.”I shall be like Him in glory.”

Finally, the 4th man said,”Brethren, may I add just one word? Forever.”
