Seven COVID cases among KCSD students

KCSD Superintendent Jacquelyn Martin addresses the CTC Legislators Day on Tuesday of this week.

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – While nationwide cases of COVID-19 are on the decline, the level of community spread remains in the substantial range in Clinton County, according to word relayed Friday by Keystone Central School District Superintendent Jacquelyn Martin. Her weekly update reports there are seven active student cases of the virus, plus one staff member, across three district schools; the report from a week ago showed three student cases.

The superintendent’s report:

April 30, 2021

KCSD Staff and Community,

Our level of community spread continues to loom in the substantial range according to the PA Department of Health database.  Local sources are reporting a higher rate of positive cases in younger adults and teens.  Currently within KCSD there is only one active case of Covid-19 among our staff and seven among our students across three different schools.  I want to commend our staff and students for their vigilance in following the safety guidelines and keeping pandemic contacts to a minimum.  Keep up your efforts in following the safety guidelines to assist us in keeping our schools open.

Please be sure to report any known cases to the appropriate building principal and follow the social distancing guidelines.  Keep your child home if they may have been exposed to anyone with Covid-19, or if they exhibit any of the Covid-19 symptoms.

Below is the most recent data for community spread for the counties in our school district:

2021 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN SURVEY-PARENT/GUARDIAN

Communication with parents/guardians is very important to us, especially in emergency situations.  Please be sure to contact the building secretaries at any of our schools to provide updated information such as email addresses and phone numbers.  Parents can also access information from teachers and principals through Class Dojo and Power School.

Teacher Appreciation Day is May 4 and School Nurses Day is May 6!  Consider sending a note to someone that has gone the extra mile this school year – gratitude makes a difference.

Only 27 student days to go in this extraordinary school year…together, we got this!
