Words of Grace

A military serviceman tells of taking his son to school while he was home on leave. When he met his son’s 2nd grade teacher she asked him what it was that he did in the service.

When he told her that he was in the infantry, she responded, “I think it’s just wonderful for any man in the military to work with infants.”

When the disciples came to Jesus with a question as to who was the greatest in the Kingdom, the Lord called a little child to come to him. He set the child in the middle of them and used him as an object lesson. (Matthew 18:1,2)

The disciples were to become as little children. (v. 3) The disciples were to humble themselves as little children. (v.4)

Little children are known for their faith. Their faith has been referred to as child-like faith. Jesus wanted his disciples to have this kind of faith

But their faith was little.” O you of little faith” (Matthew 6:30) Their faith was mixed with doubt. “O you of little faith, wherefore did you doubt?” (14:31) Someone has compared doubt and faith
Doubt sees the obstacles; faith sees the way
Doubt sees the darkest night; faith sees the day
Doubt dreads to take a step; faith sours on high.
Doubt Questions, who believes? Faith answers, I.
