CM’s Evie Jane Rembold among LHU Volleyball 2021 Recruiting Class
LOCK HAVEN, PA. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team is welcoming the 2021 recruiting class, which will look to make an immediate impact on the court this coming fall. The team will welcome seven incoming freshmen, all of whom have either signed an NLI, or have been accepted and/or are enrolled at LHU.
Lock Haven volleyball has not competed since November 16, 2019. The 2019 season was the first for head coach Eric Buggs at the helm of the Bald Eagle’s volleyball team. Notably, Buggs started his career as a head coach at Lock Haven by claiming three straight wins on the road at the Rebich Investments Invitational. In all, the Bald Eagles got out to a 6-2 start to the season.
With the influx of new talent and the wisdom of new leadership at the helm, coach Buggs looks to take LHU volleyball to new heights in 2021 and beyond.
“I am very excited to welcome these seven student-athletes to the program,” Buggs said. “Each brings a unique skill set that will help us both on and off the court. Each player has committed to coming in and continuing to build the culture of Lock Haven volleyball. All seven recruits bring a competitive spirit to the court that we looked for in the recruiting process. Even though the recruiting process was different this year, I am excited to see what this group accomplishes in their four years here at the Haven.”
Further, the incoming class comes from royal blood so-to-speak. Incoming libero/defensive specialist Madison Eckley is related to, Kayla Rishell (Schnars), who was a standout swimmer for LHU. Prior to graduating in 2014, Kayla Schnars placed tenth at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championships in the 100-yard backstroke. She still stands LHU fourth all-time in both the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke events.
Evie Jane Rembold, hailing out of Lock Haven, is the daughter of former LHU standout football player Jeffery Rembold. In 1996, Rembold was awarded All-PSAC Second Team honors for his performances that season.
Attending Lock Haven from Arlington Heights, Illinois, Ella McBride is the daughter of former professional soccer player Brian McBride. McBride had an illustrious career, playing stints in the USA, Germany and England. He is currently the fifth highest all-time leading scorer for the United States National Team and was named to the United States Soccer Hall of Fame in 2014.
The class also features incoming freshmen Regan Happ, Aly Daley, Kelly Gaston and Meghan Tennant.
