Donald L. Condo – Obituary
Donald L. Condo, 87, of Lock Haven, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport.
Born in Lock Haven on December 1, 1933, he was the son of the late John and Mary Brunner Condo.
Don was a 1951 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
In 1953, he enlisted in the U.S. Airforce and served until his Honorable Discharge in 1957.
In 1961 in Unionville, he married the former Mona Bickle, who survives. Don and Mona would have celebrated 60 years of marriage this summer.
Don retired from Hammermill Paper Company in 1992 after over 25 years of employment.
He was a lifetime member of the Lock Haven Elk’s Lodge #182 and was honored to have served as the Exalted Ruler in 1982. He was also a member of the Lock Haven Son’s of Italy and Lock Haven Moose Lodge.
Don enjoyed golfing – playing the majority of his rounds at Belles Springs Golf Course. He was a huge fan of Penn State Wrestling and Football and an avid coin collector. Most of all, he loved the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, Jessica and Sarah and his beloved pets – specifically his dog, Cocoa.
In addition to his wife, Mona, Don is survived by a daughter, Jody L. (John) Hiney of Flemington; a brother, Richard Condo of Lock Haven; two grandchildren, Jessica Hefferan and Sarah Hiney, both of Lock Haven; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard “Johnny,” Charles “Chas” and Marsden “Mart” Condo; and two sisters, Elizabeth Heichel and Judith Dunkle.
Friends and family will be received for a time of viewing on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 9 to 11 A.M with mandatory COVID mitigation and capacity restrictions being enforced.
Don’s funeral service and interment at Rest Haven Memorial Park will be held privately.
