Dorothy May Sterrett Wolfe – Obituary
Dorothy May Sterrett Wolfe, 96, formerly of Lock Haven passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home, Milesburg.
She was born in Lock Haven on May 23, 1924, the daughter of Robert S. Sterrett and Helen Grenoble.
Dorothy attended business school in Williamsport and worked in banking, retail and at Lock Haven University.
On March 24, 1944, she married Robert H. Wolfe at Camp Breckenridge, Henderson, Kentucky.
Dorothy was the last of her immediate family, being predeceased by her parents; one brother, Robert S. Sterrett, Jr; two sisters, Kathryn Walker and Jean Miller; her husband, Robert Wolfe; and her daughter, Carole Jean Wolfe Smith.
She is survived by her dear friend and sister-in-law, Alice Sterrett, and 10 nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was life long member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, Lock Haven and attended Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, Mill Hall. Dorothy taught Sunday School for many years and was well known for her beautiful garden and collection of vintage glass.
A Graveside Service will be held Friday, October 30, 2020 at 11 A.M. at Rest Haven Memorial Park with Pastor Susan Champion officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to either St. Luke’s United Church of Christ or Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church through the funeral home.
