CM Tennis Second String Tops Mifflinburg, 5-0

tennisBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Lady Wildcat tennis team has been extremely successful in the 2020 season. So much so, head coach, Pete Wert, shuffled the lineup in a major way Wednesday afternoon to give his underclass players a chance to shine. The new faces in the top spots held up the team’s winning tradition with a 5-0 shutout over visiting Mifflinburg.

Kati Kwiatek moved up to No. 1 singles for the Lady ‘Cats to defeat Mifflinburg’s Rockell Keister, 6-2, 6-1. At No. 2 singles, CM’s Claire Long took down Mifflinburg’s Kylie Vasbinder, 6-4, 6-3. Zeta Blesh finished off the singles action in the No. 3 slot in straight sets over Rebecca Reimer, 6-1, 6-2.

In doubles action, it was the Lady ‘Cat duo of Bree Weaver and Ellie Gundy dropping Mifflinburg’s Kooper Haines and Kisa Elliott, 6-4, 6-0. Jaelyn Tripp and Catie Lugg closed out the day at No. 2 doubles with a 7-6, 6-1 win over Mifflinburg’s Kassidy Reedy and Alexis Scopelliti.

Central Mountain improves to 11-1 on the season and will next travel to Milton on Monday, Sept. 28, 2020.
