CM Volleyball Opens with Senior Night Loss to West Branch
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP –The Central Mountain girls’ volleyball squad spend their season by hosting perennial powerhouse, West Branch and celebrating senior night in the process.
There was a period in the past when the Lady Warriors would visit, win three quick games then board their bus for the return trip to Allport in no time at all. That was then. Tonight they had to work especially hard to earn a 3-1 win over the Lady Wildcats. CM held West Branch at bay in the early going never letting them gain too much advantage in the see-saw battle.
Central Mountain edged West Branch 25-22 in the first game and took the Lady Warriors to the wire in the remaining three games falling 25-21, 25-22 and 22-15 to their guests.
Loni Duck had 5 kills on the night while Evie Rembold added 3 kills 2 aces and 2 blocks for the Lady ‘Cats.
In an outdoor ceremony, The Lady Wildcats recognized seven senior players and two senior managers for their contributions to the program which included: Morgan Brian, Tatum Malone, Abby Brinker, Evie Rembold, Loni Duck, McKenzie Hanna, Ali Lucas, Mallory Eck, and Skylar Lininger.
Central Mountain will next travel to Bellefonte, Wednesday, September 16, 2020.
