CM Grad Moyer Paces LHU at PSAC Cross Country Championship
BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Laurel Moyer (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) and Cadie Kiser (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) both cracked the top-10, and Karlee Noel (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) rounded out a trio of All-Conferences runners in leading the way today for the Lock Haven University women’s cross country team at the 2019 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships, hosted on Bloomsburg University’s Upper Campus Cross County Course.
It marked the second straight year where the LHU women pushed three All-Conference runners across the finish the line. Moyer and Kiser’s top-10 finishes marked the first time two Lock Haven female runners cracked the top-10 in a PSAC championship race since 2011.
Moyer was third overall, marking the highest individual effort by a Bald Eagles since 1981 when Dawn Eid won the individual title.
Bryn Trout (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion), Morgan Perry (Quarryville, Pa./Solanco) and Rachel Grow (Turbotville, Pa./Warrior Run) cracked the top-100, and Rachel Kordaz (Stewartstown, Pa./York Catholic) rounded out LHU’s top-seven today at the championship meet.
Overall, Moyer placed third out of 179 after covering the 6K course in 22.12.5. She finished just behind a 1-2 Edinboro finish.
Kiser cracked the top-10 with a sixth-place finish (22:46.1) and Noel was 30th (23:46.4). Moyer, Kiser and Noel all earned All-Conference honors by way of their top-30 finishes. It marks the third straight year where Moyer and Kiser have run to All-Conference status.
Trout placed 79th with a time of 25:02.1 and Perry was 98th with a run of 25:28.0. Grow was 99th in 25:30.7 and Kordaz ran 25:53.4 (117th).
As a team, Lock Haven placed sixth of 17 teams. Edinboro won the team title and West Chester finished as the runner-up. Seton Hill was third, Slippery Rock fourth and Kutztown finished one spot ahead of LHU in fifth.
LHU is set to host the 2019 Go Fast River Run meet on Saturday, November 2, before the Bald Eagles host the 2019 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Atlantic Region Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 9.
