ALTOONA – Central Mountain high jumper Amelia McCloy claimed her second successive District 6 title at Mansion Park in Altoona last week and advances to the PIAA tournament where she was a state place-winner a year ago.

McCloy, a junior, cleared 5-5 to outdistance the competition for a second straight crown. Earlier this year she set a personal and high school best 5-7. She was the only Central Mountain track performer to qualify for states this year.

The Lady Wildcat team finished in sixth place in an eight-team field with 45 points. Place-winners included Hunter Barger with a fourth in the 200 and an eighth in the 100; Ellie Nesbitt with a sixth in the 3200 and an eighth in the 1600; a second from Sarah Probst in the shot put, along with a fifth in the discus; McKenna Fox a seventh in the discus; Morgan Zimmerman a fourth in the javelin and a sixth from Ashley Rich in the 100 hurdles. The Central Mountain girls finished sixth in the 4×100.

The Central Mountain boys finished in seventh place with 24 points. Top finisher was Carter Simcox, second in the javelin.
