Bringing Home the Gold!
ABU DHABI, UAE – Clinton County Special Olympics Volleyball Team (Clinton County Hawks) had a gold medal victory defeating host United Arab Emirates 25-7, 25-18.
Team USA will return home Saturday afternoon and be honored with a parade starting in Avis around 1:30 p.m., traveling Route 150 through Dunnstown on to downtown Lock Haven up Bellefonte Ave. to Hogan Blvd.
At the end of Bracket Play in Group B of the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019, the Special Olympics USA (Clinton County Hawks) volleyball team had earned a 4-2 record in their six preliminary matches of pool play.
The Hawks swept over United Arab Emirates and Bharat on March 15 and fell 2-1 to Bharat in their first game, then battled back for a 2-0 win over Bharat in their second meeting on March 16. The Clinton County Hawks then picked up a 2-0 win over UAE and fell to Bharat 2-0 on March 17.
Members of Team USA are: Holdan Marr, Christopher Smith, Robert Borner Jr., Ronald Smith, Conner Borner, Jordan Litz, Kathy Marr, Elainie Litz and Arthur Powers.
