Lady Bucks Finish Second at Galeton Tourney
GALETON – The Bucktail girls basketball team finished in second place at their season-opening appearance at the Galeton Tip-Off Tournament. Host Galeton pulled away in the second half for a 56-30 Saturday win, leaving Bucktail at 1-1 after a Friday night 36-33 win over Williamson.
The Lady Bucks hung with Galeton through the first eight minute, trailing 15-13. By halftime it was 28-19 for the home team. A 15-3 Galeton run in period three pretty much sealed the victory.
Seven different Bucktail players scored, led by Julie Green with 7 points. Others were Emma Poorman, 6; Myka Poorman, 5; Tesa Cowfer, 4; Emily Cross, 4; and Emma Intallura and Jordan Burrows, 2 each.
Bucktail will be home next Wednesday, Dec. 12, hosting Muncy.
