LHU Football Falls to Millersville, 24-6

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University football team (1-5, 1-1 PSAC East) fell to visiting Millersville University (2-4, 2-1 PSAC East), 24-6, in Saturday Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action.

The Marauders jumped out to a 24-0 lead and despite a late rally from the Bald Eagles that produced a touchdown with 4:53 to play, Millersville went home with the PSAC East win.

After a scoreless first quarter, Millersville scored 10 second-quarter points and led 10-0 at halftime. Trailing 24-0, Tavian Dorsey (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) put Lock Haven on the board. Dorsey’s 7-yard TD run made it 24-6 as the Bald Eagles’ 2-point conversion try failed. LHU was hoping to continue the rally, but the ensuing on-side kick attempt was recovered by Millersville.

Quarterback Cameron Tobias (Centre Hall, Pa./Penns Valley) threw for 236 yards and wide receiver Bryan Greene (Milesburg, Pa./Bald Eagle) had eight catches for 151 yards.

Obadiah Asare (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) and Javon Whitfield (Philadelphia/Simon Gratz) each finished with 12 tackles. Asare had one sack and two tackles for a loss. Tyjae Rivers (Philadelphia/Glen Mills) and Dontae Mason (Philadelphia/Bishop McDevitt) each made on interception.

On Saturday, October 13 (Week 7), the Bald Eagles will head to No. 23 Kutztown University for a PSAC East game (2 p.m.). LHU will return home on Saturday, October 20 for the Bald Eagles annual Homecoming Game, as Lock Haven hosts local-rival Bloomsburg University at 12 p.m.
