Renovo Town Clock Fund Boosted by Trinity Episcopal Church
RENOVO- Representing the congregation of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Renovo, treasurer, Yvonne Woodring and husband Kenneth Woodring (center) presented a check for $12,000 to Tracy Shady (right), board member and Fundraising Coordinator for the Greater Renovo Area Heritage Park Association as a memorial donation to the Renovo Vintage Clock Fund. Reverend John Haywood (left), church priest was present for the ceremony that was held Friday, December 15, 2018 before services at 11:00 a.m. The contribution honors the memory of all past members of the congregation as well as the church itself. Generations worshiped at Trinity Episcopal Church which was one of the original churches in Renovo.
The Renovo Vintage Clock Fund is an outgrowth of the town’s 2016 sesquicentennial celebration. Renovo Borough’s Sesquicentennial committee set aside funds at the conclusion of the event to seed a project to purchase and erect an historical town clock as a reminder to visitors and future generations of Renovo’s rich heritage. Fundraisers and donations had the fund close to achieving it’s goal of $12,000 to buy a very respectable two-sided clock. The committee was pleasantly surprised by the church’s recent offer to match that amount. With that donation, the clock committee ordered a more sphisiticated four-sided clock to be placed near the Flaming Foliage Visitor Center and unveiled in a ceremony later this year.
There is less than $1,000 to be raised to reach the goal for the clock’s final payment. All funds donated beyond the goal will go toward installation of the clock and recognition of donors. Donations can be made out to “GRAHP” and sent to Renovo Clock Fund c/o The Greater Renovo Area Heritage Park, P.O. Box 148, Renovo, PA 17745. Letters verifying donations for tax purposes are sent upon request. Heritage Park is a 501(c) 3 organization. Online donations can be made at gofundme.com/renovo-vintage-town-clock-project
