LOCK HAVEN – Continuing with the Clinton County Arts Councils mission of offering the region outstanding and innovative artwork, Ray Heffner and John McKaig will open a joint exhibition at The Station Gallery on May 2nd. The exhibit is an outstanding collection of recent paintings, drawings, and prints from these talented artists and will be on display from May 2nd to May 24th. Ray has lived in the area for many years and John is currently a resident of Interlochen, Michigan.
“Both Ray and John are not only exceptional artists but educators as well”, stated Steve Getz, CCAC board president. “They have worked professionally in the art field their entire lives and we are very honored to have both of them exhibit their work at The Station Gallery. We strive to show not only amazing art but also a variety of style, color, texture and subject matter to keep each exhibit unique. This collection gives insight into the boundless imagination of these two talented men. From the soft, ghostly edges of Ray’s charcoal drawings to John’s sharp contoured lines in his wood block prints, there is a harmony in their work yet a distinctive and personal approach by both”.
Ray Heffner received his MA from Ohio State University and his MFA at Louisiana State University. He specializes in printmaking and art history. Heffner has been a professor at LHU for over 15 years, where he has served as the Art Department chair and teaches art history, printmaking and drawing.
He has also taught at the Ohio State University, Columbus; Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware, OH; Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge; and Loyola University, New Orleans, LA. He has worked as a gallery associate, exhibitions preparatory and slide curator. His work has been exhibited in galleries across the U.S. in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Louisiana.
