Fire Fully Engulfs Former Log Home Business in Dunstable Township

By Christopher Miller

DUNSTABLE TOWNSHIP – Numerous fire and brush units from the tri-county area were called out to the former Asperline Log Homes (formerly Timberline) building, 1564 Woodward Avenue near Woolrich, just after 2p.m. Monday afternoon for a multiple-alarm structure fire that quickly became fully engulfed.
The structure, entirely built of wood, stood for over 40 years along Woodward Avenue. Smoke could be seen from as far away as Swissdale to the northwest.
A helicopter was called in for a water drop, but that was canceled after the fire was deemed under control just after 2:30 p.m. while brush fire control and maintenance was turned over to DCNR at 2:40 p.m.
This is a developing story. More details will be posted when they become available.
