Wildcat’s Open up with a 59-29 Win at Bellefonte
BELLEFONTE – The Central Mountain boys’ basketball squad opened their 2016-17 season by traveling just over the Centre County line to take on the Bellefonte Red Raiders. That trip was the first step in earning their first victory of the new season by downing the hosts 59-29.
The Wildcats jumped out to a 9-2 advantage in the first quarter, then outpaced the Red Raiders 15-10 in the second period to hold a 24-12 at the break.
In the second half, CM kept up with the pressure leading Bellefonte 19-8 in the third and 16-9 in the fourth quarter … holding the Raiders to single digits in three of the four periods for the 59-29 win.
Leading the way was Brody Baker with 20 points for the Wildcats followed by Matt Storeman with 9 points while Collin Jones and Wyatt Bumbarger each scored 8.
Yah Adroja contributed 6 points with Kyle Everhart adding 4 more. Isaiah McCann and Nick Carpenetti each netted two points for CM.
The Wildcat JV squad also brought home a win edging out Bellefonte 44-41.
