Words of Grace – June 2

WordsOfGraceGod gave to Solomon an exceeding amount of wisdom.  His wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the others in his day and he spoke three thousand proverbs on many different subjects.  (First Kings 4:29-34).

Some of the proverbs of Solomon are found in The Proverbs, the wisdom book of the Bible.  This book points us in the right direction.  In fact, Proverbs 3:5, 6 may well be labeled “The Road Map for Christian Living,” according to Harry J. Fisher.

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Fisher comments:

“If we heed these directions, not relying on our own insights alone, trusting the Lord with all our hearts, acknowledging the Lord in all we do and say each day, we will be sure to arrive safely at our destination because the road will be made straight.”

Fisher insists that this generation desperately needs a road map for daily living. “In God’s Word,” he explains, “we have the master plan, and if we heed the Holy Spirit and obey the Words of the wise man, we will have no regrets or fears, for we shall arrive home safely at eventide.”
