Darlene V. Blazina – Obituary

Darlene V. Blazina, 80, of 360 E. Park St., Lock Haven, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at Lock Haven Hospital.

She was born in Black River Falls, Wisconsin on July 16, 1935, the daughter of the late Paul J. and Viola Iverson Gebhardt.

On June 19, 1952 in Warrens, Wisconsin she married Charles A. Blazina, Sr., who preceded her in death on February 4, 2000.

Darlene was employed at Lock Haven Hospital in the Dietary Department for 28 years until her retirement in 2000.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, Lock Haven.

Darlene enjoyed reading and flower gardening. She loved spending time with her friends and family, especially attending family picnics.

She is survived by two sons, Chuck A. (Diane) Blazina, Jr. of Lamar and John (Barbara Haffley) Blazina of Mill Hall; a daughter, Charlene (Michael) Hamilton of Sayre; a sister, Delores (John) Tucker of Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Teresa (Jason) Pletcher, Angela (Christian) Madenspacher, Jason (Jessica) Vosburg, Jamie (Suzanne) Vosburg and Joe (Danielle) Blazina; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Darlene was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Jerry Gebhardt.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 3 East Walnut Street, Lock Haven, Pa 17745 with Deacon Chip Young officiating.

Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Bellefonte.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Beech Creek Legion.
