RENOVO – Dr. Raymond J. Bratton, 79, of Renovo passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at Bucktail Medical Center, S. Renovo with his family by his side.

He was born September 9, 1936 in Renovo a son of the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Kostolnic) Bratton.

He was married on September 3, 1960 to his beloved wife Arlene. They celebrated 55 years of marriage together.

He graduated from Penn State University in 1963. where he received his Ph.D. in Ceramic Technology.

Raymond worked for Westinghouse Research and Development Laboratory in Churchhill, PA from 1963 – 1996 as a research director.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Renovo. He was on the Board of Directors at BuckTail Medical Center.  He was member of the Emporium Country Club. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and playing cards with his buddies. He enjoyed spending time with his family and going up to his camp on Dry Run Mountain.

Surviving are his loving wife two daughters Raelene (Bob) Writt of Leechburg, PA, Debi (Jimmy) Ash of Murrysville and a son Raymond J. (Teresa) Bratton, II of Washougal, WA.

Seven grandchildren Robert and his fiancé Ashley, Timothy and his wife Kala, Joey, Corey, Dylan, Cara and Natalie.

Two great grandchildren Caden and Colton.

Also surviving is a sister Barbara (George) Mills of Renovo.

A brother Gary (Carol) Bratton preceded him in death.

He will also be dearly missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Ray personally wanted to thank everyone for their love, support and many prayers during his difficult time. He had expressed many times to his family how blessed he was to have so many people care about him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 925 Huron Ave., Renovo.

Friends and relatives will be received on Monday from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo.

Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hyner.

The family will provide the flowers.
