Obituary – Gary W. Barner
Gary W. Barner, 69, of Beech Creek, passed away Monday, May 19, 2025 at Gatehouse Hospice, Williamsport.
Born December 3, 1955 in Jersey Shore, he was the son of the late Ralph H. and Rosie Halstead Barner.
Gary was a 1973 graduate of Jersey Shore High School. He worked for many years for Cohick’s of Jersey Shore and then worked maintenance at Divine Providence Hospital until his retirement.
In 1990 in Mill Hall, he married the former Barbara Mayes, who survives.
Gary was an avid train enthusiast and collector of railroad memorabilia. He was also a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and Penn State football.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by two sons, Kevin G. Barner and Patrick W. Barner, both of Beech Creek; a brother, Steven (Mary) Barner of Jersey Shore; a brother-in-law, John Ingraham of Jersey Shore; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his loving dogs, Wally and Rip.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Ingraham.
Should a future service be planned, it will be announced privately at the convenience of his family.
Gary will be laid to rest with his beloved dog, Ralph, at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
