Flags of Honor Invites Public to the Park on Sunday

LOCK HAVEN — Thanks to widespread community support, Triangle Park is being filled this weekend with 169 full-sized American flags, each dedicated to a veteran, first-responder, teacher, anyone who hold a place in someone’s heart.
The Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven organizes Flags of Honor every year and will host a public ceremony this Sunday, May 25 at 12:00 p.m. Bring a lawn chair and sit among the flags for the ceremony.
Commemorative booklets will be available.
Rotary Area Governor Diahann Claghorn will welcome everyone, followed by Terry Banfill presenting the colors and Kimberly Vance singing the National Anthem. Rotary District Governor Pam Wagoner will give the address. Banfill and Rotarians will give a flag-folding demonstration, and the ceremony will conclude with a reading by Club President Marianne Lotfi and Taps played by James L. Franklin, Jr.
The rain date is Sunday, June 1. Watch Downtown Lock Haven Rotary’s Facebook page for updates.
