Raymond H. James – Obituary
Raymond H. James, 77, of Lamar, passed away with family by his side on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Gatehouse Hospice, Williamsport.
He was the son of the late William H. and Lillian V. James.
Ray was employed as a security guard at Corning Glass of State College for 30 years before his retirement. Following retirement, he went back to work as a security guard at Cero Metal of Bellefonte.
He was a life member and past Chief of Nittany Valley Fire Company, Station 17 and a member of the Howard Lions Club.
Ray enjoyed sports, especially Penn State Football, the Steelers and the Phillies. He also liked spending time fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Romaine James of Lamar; a daughter, Dee Ann (Ed) McGee of Linden; a son, David R. (Jennifer) James of Pleasant Gap; four grandchildren, Tyler (Jessica) James of Milesburg, Daniel E. McGee of Kentucky, Bryant A. James of Arizona and Lauren E. McGee of Williamsport; and a brother, Randy (Debbie) James of Oklahoma.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William James and a sister, Jane Reeder.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral to the United Methodist Church of Lamar or the Nittany Valley Fire Company.
