Norfolk – Kathryn Jane (Stout) Poorman, of Norfolk, joined the Angels in Heaven on October 13, 2015. Kathy was born on February 27, 1931 in Drurys Run, PA and was preceded by her parents Harry Stout and Eloise (Walker) Stout. She married Frederick Poorman on June 9, 1951. Kathy, who unofficially became ‘Nan’ when her first grandchild was born, was a Navy wife, a homemaker and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her family. She was filled with love and took care of everyone whether it be immediate family, her extended family, or neighbors. Kathy was preceded by her sisters Betty Granheim, Gladys Kepler, and Brother Ken Jones.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 64 years Frederick, her two sons, Fred Jr (Cynthia) and Steve (Debby), four grandchildren- Steve Jr (Cara), Matthew (Kristy), Scott (Jessi) and Heather Eure (Sam). She also has three great grandchildren: Cooper, Jack, and Abigail with another great granddaughter, Heidi Kathryn, due any day now. She is survived by her brother Harry Stout (Shirley), sister Claire Heaps, and many nieces and nephews.

Kathy was interred on October 26, 2015 the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Norfolk, VA.

Please mark your donation ‘In Memory of Kathryn Poorman’. The donations will be used to place a Memorial Bench in the Garden, where Kathy loved to walk each day. She will remain in our hearts forever; our Kathy, our Mom, our Nan.
