Obituary – William (Bill) Kerstetter

William (Bill) Kerstetter, 91, died December 12, 2025, peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born September 27, 1934, to Wilbur and Mildred Krebbs Kerstetter.

Bill was loved by his family and all who met him. Bill was a friend to everyone. He loved to tell a story to anyone who would listen.

He worked as a welder most of his life, opening Kerstetter Welding in 1981. Bill married his wife Jane Roan Kerstetter, in 1990. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

After retiring from his business, Bill and Jane enjoyed making metal crafts for their family and friends. He was a founding member of the Lamar Township Volunteer Fire Company and an active member in the Rote United Methodist church, where he served as trustee for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Jane. He is also survived by his four children Steve (Cindy) Kerstetter, Brenda (Kenneth) Hess, Barb (Chuck) Etters and Colleen (Bryan) Bower. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Also surviving is his sister Linda (James) McCloskey and two nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents, first wife Joyce Peters, and his grandson Dylan Hess.

Bill and his family would like to thank the wonderful care givers that are now part of our family.

All who knew him know that there are too many stories and positive attributes to fit in this obituary. Please join us as we remember him and celebrate his life at the Rote United Methodist Church, 102 Beagle Road, Mill Hall, PA on January 10, 2026. The receiving line will begin at 2:00PM with a service at 4:00PM. All friends and family are welcome.
