Downtown Lock Haven Honors First Responders With Community Event

LOCK HAVEN-Friday, Downtown Lock Haven came alive with community spirit as Downtown Lock Haven Inc. hosted it’s Final Friday: First Responders Appreciation Event. Despite the unpredictable weather, residents turned out in full force to show their gratitude and support for the local heroes who keep us safe.
The event featured a variety of first responder vehicles and demonstrations, giving attendees of all ages a chance to get up close and personal with the tools and technology used by our emergency teams. From towering ladder trucks to patrol cars and even the brand-new Citizens Hose Co. No. 5 water rescue boat, the lineup was impressive and educational.
Children were seen proudly wearing plastic firefighter helmets, a fun giveaway that brought smiles and excitement to many young faces. Some kids got hands-on experiences with police gear—holding protective shields and learning about the important work officers do every day. Others were busy exploring the fire trucks or hoping for a peek inside the city’s emergency Squad truck.
Local businesses joined in the celebration as well. Leo’s Italian Ice provided cool treats for the crowd, while The Roxy added color and creativity with face painting that kept both kids and adults entertained.
“The First Responders Appreciation event was a powerful reminder of the strength of our community and the vital role emergency services play in keeping us safe,” said an event participant. “Downtown Lock Haven is proud to honor those who serve, and we’re grateful to everyone who helped make the evening so meaningful.”
