Lock Haven Catholic School Students Honored in American Legion Auxiliary’s 2025 Americanism Essay Contest
LOCK HAVEN – The American Legion Auxiliary Unit #131 of Lock Haven honored the 2025 Americanism Essay Competition winners during a special awards assembly at Lock Haven Catholic School.
Students, along with proud parents, grandparents, and family members, gathered for the celebration with ALA Unit #131 President Doris Schenck, Secretary Susan Miller, and Americanism Chairperson Carol Wert Walker, who also serves as District President for Centre, Lycoming, and Clinton Counties.
All students from Lock Haven Catholic School who participated in this year’s essay contest, themed “What does America the Beautiful mean to me (regarding veterans and our military)?”, were recognized for their efforts.
First, second, and third place winners from Classes I, II, and III were celebrated for their exceptional essays. Special recognition was given to Sydney Walker (Class I) and Isabella Bravoco (Class II), who placed first not only in their school division but also at the Centre, Lycoming, and Clinton Counties level. Both will now advance to compete at the state level with the potential to reach national recognition.
