FALLS SEES FINE SEASON COME TO END AT STATES
By Joe Walker
HERSHEY – Central Mountains’ Austynn Falls saw her very fine season come to a close, as she was the victim of a pin in the consolation second round of the PIAA Girls State Wrestling Championships this afternoon at the Hershey Giant Center.
Falls gave up a first period takedown to trail Western Regional champion Abigail Dolanch (32-2) of Avella after one period. Dolanch chose the down position for the second period, Falls put in a leg ride and broke Dolanch down on the mat, but then got a little too high and Dolanch was able to reverse Falls and pin the Lady Wildcat sophomore in 53 seconds of the middle period.
Falls finished her very fine sophomore year with a record of 30-6 and came just one win short of being a state place winner. Falls took a nice step forward in her abilities this season and will take a very good 55-15 record into her junior season and is looking to take another step forward in her abilities, possibly earning a spot on the state podium.
