FALLS DROPS OPENING ROUND BOUT AT STATES
By Joe Walker HERSHEY – Central Mountain Lady Wildcat sophomore Austynn Falls dropped her opening round match in the Girls PIAA State Wrestling Championships this afternoon. The loss dropped Falls in the first round of consolations.
Falls (29-5) got into an upper body match with Grace Nasman (31-7) of Upper St. Clair in the very beginning of the bout, when they came down on the mat Nasmen ended up catching Falls in a double bar arm move and pinned the Wildcat sophomore in 55 seconds of the first period.
Falls now drops into the consolations where she will face Dakota Dengler (29-10), who is a freshman from Northern Lebanon. Dengler, the fourth place finisher from the South Central Region, was a victim by fall from Southeast regional champion Jenny Gautreau (35-4) of Owen J. Roberts.
Lady Wildcat junior Kendall Wagner (25-7) will be coming up at 170 pounds, as she will face Western region third placer Hannah Hornick (23-10) of Seneca Valley.
