Central Mountain Edged by Milton in Tip-Off Tournament

MILTON — The Central Mountain Wildcats fell to host Milton on Saturday night at the Milton Tip-Off Tournament, dropping a hard-fought game, 52-49. A dominant fourth-quarter performance from Milton, led by standout Rylin Scott, proved to be the difference.

Central Mountain (1-2) started the game strong, leading 16-13 after the first quarter and extending their advantage to 25-19 by halftime. The Wildcats relied on a balanced offensive attack, led by Caleb Mahoney, who scored a team-high 14 points. Hunter Hoy added 9 points, with Darius Shade close behind at 7. Noah Wells contributed 6 points, while Blake Walker and Max Verrelli each added 5 and 4 points, respectively. Jeremy Reese and Isah Dorman rounded out the scoring with 2 points apiece.

Despite Central Mountain holding a 36-32 lead entering the fourth quarter, Milton mounted a comeback in the final frame. Rylin Scott was the driving force for the Black Panthers, pouring in a game-high 23 points to propel Milton to the win.

The Wildcats will look to regroup as they travel to Penns Valley for their next game on Tuesday, with a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
