Isabel Schoonover Crowned as 75th Annual Flaming Foliage Festival Queen in Renovo
The 75th Annual Flaming Foliage Festival and its participants, as well as those that lined the streets of Renovo for the annual Parade of Queens could not have asked for a better weekend as the event closed out with the crowning of Miss Canton Isabel Schoonover as the milestone 75th annual FFF Queen.
Just a year removed from when bad weather forced the parade to scale down and be held on Sunday, this year the largest parade in years was held with the backdrop of a perfect fall Saturday afternoon.
This year all surviving past queens were invited back to take part in the weekend’s events as over two dozen took part in the parade and nine of those stayed and attended Sunday’s Coronation. Each Queen took to the stage to give a brief introduction and offered updates of what they have done in life, with one common thread.
Each former Queen, particularly those that did not represent Bucktail but came from out of town, offered stories of how their trip to Renovo and Flaming Foliage were amongst their favorite memories, as they spoke of an overwhelming sense of feeling welcomed by the community.
It was a festive atmosphere on Sunday for Coronation where Isabel Schoonover was named FFF Queen. The Canton representative was also recognized by her fellow contestants as her afternoon started off by being named Miss Congeniality, as voted by her peers.
Miss Bellefonte Erin Ashe as named first runner up as Miss Bald Eagle Area Gabrielle Perry received 2nd Runner up honors.
Sugar Valley Rural Charter School escort Bryer Martin received the Alex Rauch Memorial Award, Miss Williamsport Dreeonna Mandville was named Miss Photogenic, Warrior Run escort Dohnavyn Warren was named Mr. Congeniality and Miss South Williamsport Sidney Ertel nabbed theJudges Memorial Award.
