BENV Kiwanis donates backpacks to local organizations

LOCK HAVEN – The Kiwanis Club of Bald Eagle and Nittany Valleys recently made generous donations to two local organizations, Nurse-Family Partnership® and Pregnancy Resource Clinic. Members Linda Walker, Sharon Vilello, and Penny Meyers spent time organizing, sorting and stuffing backpacks and tote bags full of baby supplies. Phoebe Watson delivered them to Nurse Family Partnership® while Penny and Linda delivered to Pregnancy Resource Clinic. A huge THANK YOU to First Quality for their generous donation of baby wipes and diapers ranging from newborn to size 6!

Nurse-Family Partnership® is a community health program that provides expectant mothers the support and care they need in order to have a healthy pregnancy. Families enrolled in the program develop a close relationship with the nurse from time of pregnancy through the first two years of the baby’s life, giving them the confidence and tools needed to succeed.

So how does Kiwanis help?

“Our club helps by providing a starter backpack for the new mom with items including shampoo/body wash for baby, baby lotion, towel/washcloths, bottles, receiving blankets, baby grooming kits, pacifiers as well as a tote filled with baby wipes and diapers from size newborn to size 6, thanks to the donation our club received from First Quality”, said Penny Meyers, BENV Club Secretary. “We have supported NFP for several years with monetary donations, diapers, and equipment to help a new mom learn CPR for their babies.”

Nurse-Family Partnership® is a partner of Kiwanis International.
