Obituary – Wilda A. Reeder

Wilda A. Reeder, 96, of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home passed away Saturday afternoon, June 15, 2024 at the home. She was born in Renovo, PA., daughter of the late Thomas A. and Nellie G. (McCloskey) Bitting. She married Richard D. Reeder on November 12, 1948 in Renovo and he preceded her in death on September 15, 2012 after 63 years of marriage.

Surviving are a daughter, Sharon K. Wertz; a son, Arden D. Reeder and his wife Debra; six granddaughters: Krista Luchetta, Kimberly Wertz-Tracy, Shannon Becker, Julia Williams, Jasmine and Destiny Reeder; and four great-grandchildren.
Wilda was preceded in death by a sister, Elva M. Swart and two brothers, Thomas A. Jr. and James K. Bitting.

She was a 1945 graduate of Bucktail High School in Renovo. Wilda went on after graduation to work for a brief time at Sylvania in Lock Haven and then became a wonderful homemaker who took great pride and joy in taking care of her family.

Wilda was a member of Faith Ev. Lutheran Church, Frankstown and previously was a member of the Eastern Star and Rainbow Girls. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and loved to cook but most of all she cherished her time spent with her loving family.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at noon by Rev. Roy A. Steward. Interment at Alto Reste Park, Altoona.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
