Obituary – Rodney Dexter Temons

Rodney Dexter Temons, 90, of Mill Hall, and self-proclaimed mayor of Sugar Run, passed away at his home, surrounded by family, on Saturday, June 8, 2024.

Born in Lock Haven on March 16, 1934, he was the son of the late Michael J., and Laura Warner Temons.

Rodney was a 1952 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He was employed as a surveyor for PennDot’s engineering department, working out of the Clearfield office until his retirement in 1991.

He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Parish, attending Immaculate Conception Church in Lock Haven.

Rodney is survived by his two daughters, Laurie Long of Mechanicsburg and Marnie (Kevin) McDermott of Surf City, NJ; three grandchildren, Alex Long, Liam and Nora McDermott; and one sister, Marilyn Steele of Lock Haven. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; a nephew in-law and compadre, Ken Cooper; and neighbor, Marie King.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Stahl, Dorothy McCaslin, Teresa Hivicdko, and Julia Savrock; and two brothers, James Temons and Ferd Wetzel.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 12 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home for a time of viewing on Thursday from 10 A.M. until the time of the service.

Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lock Haven.

A celebration of life will be held, after funeral services, at 2496 Sugar Run Road. All are welcome to attend.
