Haven Performing Arts Dance and Twirl teams have exceptional weekend of competition

The Haven Performing Arts Dance and Twirl teams had an exceptional weekend at Lake Lehman High School during their 6th competition of the Indoor Season. All teams secured first place wins, marking a tremendous success for the program. Additionally, their achievements were highlighted in a WNEP News Story, drawing attention to the essence of Indoor Performing Arts.

A significant milestone for the Independent Novice Dance Team was their elevation to the Independent Regional A Dance Team. This recognition by TIA judges reflects their potential to compete at a higher level. Led by coaches Rachel Hanley, Megan Marino, and Erin Hearn, the team’s performance, set in a park and danced to the song “A Symptom of Being Human” by Shinedown, has been pivotal in their journey.

Coach Rachel emphasized the team’s readiness for this promotion, acknowledging the challenges ahead while expressing confidence in the dancers’ abilities to excel. Coach Megan echoed this sentiment, praising the girls’ dedication, passion, and talent, underscoring the historic nature of this achievement for Haven Performing Arts.

Coach Erin commended the team’s relentless hard work throughout the season, emphasizing their growth and the bright prospects that lie ahead. With the upcoming competition at BEA on April 6th, the team is gearing up for another opportunity to showcase their skills and determination.

Another highlight of this weekend is that the Independent Novice Dance Team was promoted in ranks to Independent Regional A Dance Team. This means that the TIA judges feel that the dancers will be able to compete at a higher level. The team is led by coaches Rachel Hanley, Megan Marino, and Erin Hearn. The dance this year is set in a park and they perform a dance to the song “A Symptom of Being Human” by Shinedown. Coach Rachel stated, “Getting to the point of a promotion was a walk in the park! Holding our own in this next division is going to be tough, but if these 13 beautiful dancers keep up the hard work and dedication, I know they will be successful in competitions to come!”

Coach Megan stated, “The dedication, passion, and talent of these girls has not gone unnoticed. Week after week they show so much growth and it was recognized. Now we have to grow some more and fight a little harder. This hasn’t been done before in the history of Haven, and to be able to be a part of this experience is truly amazing. We are so proud of these girls. There is such a bright future ahead for all of them!”

“These girls have worked extremely hard this season! Week by week they grow and prove what amazing dancers they are. This next chapter for them will challenge them, but as their coach I know they will achieve greatness. We are extremely proud of how far they have come and this promotion proves just that!” added Coach Erin.

The next competition Haven Performing Arts will be attending is at BEA on April 6th. For more information about the program, please visit their Facebook Page Haven Performing Arts
