BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – March “schools of the month” for Keystone Central School District are Renovo Elementary and Bucktail Middle/High School.

During their presentation at School Board meeting, the schools combined forces to create their presentation video which board president Butch Knauff referred to as “the best presentation we ever had, but I might be a little biased,” he joked.

In the video, teachers came together to explain more about the school and the things they teach.

Josh Day, a science teacher said that schools stand as an example of academic excellence and that they create a vibrant culture of learning. “We absorb knowledge and engage within it to excel,” he said.

Social Studies teacher Bruce Ransom expressed how the Renovo area schools are “small schools achieving successes in athletics and extra curriculars” and that the schools “exceed expectations, dedication, and sportsmanship on a local and state level.”

Angela Lavelle, first grade teacher expressed how students and staff both collaborate across all grade levels and that they have formed a mutual trust among each other. “We have shared initiatives and our K-12 campus is unified and shared mutual support of one another.” “Our elementary students really look up to the high school students,” she said.

The video concluded with a send off of “We are Renovo Elementary, we are Bucktail Middle, and we are Bucktail!”

Superintendent Redmon Thursday also delivered his report, beginning that a school breakfast grant application for Central Mountain High School was approved in the amount of $7,000. Leadership Clinton County was recently visiting the school district and they spoke to students and learned about the CTC program.

“While wonderful things are going on with our athletes,” he started, “we have some big things happening in music and the arts.” Dr. Redmon went on to describe how students from all over the district are involved in band, chorus, jazz band, and choir competitions and that he commended all of them for their hard work in the advancement of the arts.
