Garcia’s Joins 100 Win Club
LHU Dominates Grand Canyon 48-3
LOCK HAVEN – Fred Garcia’s (Donora, Pa./Ringgold) 100th career win highlighted a dominating performance Friday night for the Bald Eagles, as the Lock Haven University wrestling team cruised by Grand Canyon, 48-3 in the 2014-15 regular season finale. The Bald Eagles finished 7-12 on the season.
Garcia did it in style, pinning Austin Trujillo at the 2:11 mark of their 184-pound bout.
With the win, Garcia becomes the 16th Bald Eagle wrestler to win 100 or matches in a career.
In all, Lock Haven won nine of 10 bouts, including back-to-back pins at 174 and 184 and four forfeits. Garcia’s pin came after Tyler Wood (West Chester, Pa./West Chester-Rustin) picked up a pin 2:43 into his match at 174.
Dan Neff (Quarryville, Pa./Solanco) picked up a 17-2 (4:39) tech fall at 149.
Grand Canyon’s (1-13) only win came in the final bout of the night as Marcus Haughian (285) picked up his 15th win of the season.
Prior to the start of the match, LHU honored its three seniors, including Ty Albright and Elias Biddle (Turbotville, Pa./Warrior Run), along with Garcia.
Biddle joined Garcia in the winner’s circle with a 7-2 win over Chayse Jackson at 157.
