BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – School board members heard from Andrew Wolf, Student Government President at Central Mountain Middle School.

The 8th grade is now finishing their PSSA tests and will be moving on to the Keystone Exams in a few weeks. Throughout the year we had a lot of things happen at the middle school like setting up the Bistro so we could have lunch with friends, and other things such as planning our 8th grade graduation and working on school and bus safety. We worked on student safety during lockdown and fire drills and addressed and worked on bus safety concerns. We also were able to open a concession stand at home Track meets. It has been an honor to serve as Student Government President and I am grateful for my ability to help be involved in the improvement of my school.

Central Mountain High School Student Government President Claire Bowman spoke to the board about the happenings at the high school.

Spring Carnival was today. We had carnival games and snacks for purchase for those students who received no demerits. Prom was also held last weekend. The sophomore and junior classes did a great job decorating the space. We celebrated Senior Spirit Week and had a “decades day” and “dress like your favorite teacher day.” Ball, the last dance of the year, is coming up next weekend. It is true what they say about senioritis; it is spreading through the building big time with plans being made for baccalaureate, graduation on June 4, and senior awards night. We have choir and orchestra concerts coming up, AP and Keystone testing also approaching. Senior pranks are also being planned, look out, Mr. Verrelli. There is a job fair coming up for students looking for summer jobs, short-term jobs, and for career planning. We have some German students going to Germany with Mr. Madenford. I am grateful for the time I had making the lives of students better through student government. Elections for student government are May 12 for officers. Nominations will be on May 5. Many student government officers are seniors this year.
